Earlier this week we were having an unusually rainy day. As we drove in the car, Owen was curious about the sound of water splashing under the car when we drove through an area with standing water so we talked about that for awhile. Then after our grocery stop, I took off through some standing water and Owen says in his bossy, little voice, "You'd better slow down! That rain is pretty slippery out, Mr. Mom!" ...imitating a certain "Mr. Owen" voice Mom uses when she means business.
Then earlier today as Owen and I snuggled in his bed reading a Christmas story before nap, I turn the page to a little dog sitting on a chair looking at a baby in a crib. Innocent enough... until Owen says, "Mom, why is that dog dropping a deuce on that chair?" What the heck??!! I could only assume Daddy must have gotten bored with this book and made it a little more entertaining... Of course Owen was able to confirm this. oh, brother... I must monitor Daddy story time better, I suppose... :)
Glad my husband isn't the only one teaching his kids the word deuce!
