November Memories

As I quickly think on the month of November.... since I remembered to write down nothing.... here are a few of my favorite things:

Recently, I loved that Owen denied it was my birthday. "No, you already had a birthday at Aunt Nancy's house."  Which was really Aunt Cathy making an early birthday dinner and cake at Grandma Meyer's house.  He totally thought it was unfair that I could have two birthdays before he had another.

I love that Chloie has started kissing every toy and person she meets.  She'll bring me a toy and give me a little concerned look and ask, "Kiss?"  Yes, Chloie, you can kiss the train, doll, dog, etc.....  She also loves to kiss her brother.  It seems the only thing she doesn't want to share her sweet kisses with is me.... "Can Mommy get one of those kisses, Chloie?"  "Hmm, mmm."  She'll always reply with her sweet shake of the head.

I loved it a couple of weeks ago when Owen was outside sweeping the street, and I told him it was time to go in the house.  He looked at me, raised his hand commandingly to my face and said, "Could you be patient please, Mom?"  Oh, yes, dear son.... I'll be patient....

I love how Chloie has started recognizing her colors.  Most things are indeed "wellow," but it still the most adorable thing.  Everything she puts in her mouth or plays with, "Wellow?"

I loved it that yesterday morning Owen woke up at 5:22, but we watched the entire Polar Express together.  He got so teary-eyed at the end when the boys went home.  I asked him why he was sad as he voice wavered and his eyes turned red and watery, but he vehemently denied he was sad. "I'm not sad!  Just why do those boys have to get off the train?"  Oh my, a little Paula who cries at everything... I hope not!

Mostly, I just love how this past month has brought my kids closer as friends and playmates.  Of course there is pushing and fighting, but they are each other's best buds more and more.  If one is asleep, the other hardly knows what to do.  Sure they'll play with Mom for a bit, but it's never long before Chloie asks for "O-wen."  Or Owen thinks, "I heard Sissy.  I think she's ready to get up." ...at 6:00 a.m... I think not!  Nothing brings more joy to my heart than hearing them laugh so hard at plopping their butts on the ground or twirling around in circles as fast as they can.  Surely my life will never be the same because God has blessed me so abundantly!
