We went to a pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkins to carve and paint. Owen did all the picking. I was impressed with his money savvy.... totally picked the cheapest big pumpkin I saw. Each pumpkin was priced based on size and shape, but I thought ours was pretty great given the $4 price tag. Both kids painted baby pumpkins and helped carve the big one. Chloie was having a bit of an emotional day so any bit of slime that touched her sent her into a terrific fit. And when Owen would purposely put a glob of seeds on her...that made for a very exciting time!
Halloween night was soup with several neighbors, but Owen couldn't eat since he was just waiting for the treats. We went to six houses right on our street and didn't get past the first one without the kids digging into the candy. After a few pieces of candy, they both thought they had the biggest bucket of candy and were completely happy sitting in our driveway passing out candy to all the other trick-or-treaters. Owen cracked us up asking some of the kids, "Do you like this kind?" as he handed them their candy. Or, "Do you want two or just one piece?" He was very upset when there was a lull in the action and would start making some odd calling noises to get more trick-or-treaters to come past. Best of all the were both bathed and tucked in with sweet dreams by 8:30!
