Growing up Catholic in a wonderful, loving home, I've always known and loved God. Yet, it hasn't been until recent months that I've come to know and love Him more. I've allowed Him into my simple life and simple issues only to see the awesomeness of His Providence in me. Giving God the glory and gratitude has made me all the more richer in the goodness of life.
We started our celebration with the 4:00 Christmas Eve Mass at our new church building. Arriving an hour early, we barely got a seat. The kids were awesome. The time passed quickly. And it was a perfect way to give thanks. We then headed to In-N-Out Burger where Owen announced, "Good happy dirbday dinner, Jesus!" I think it was one of my favorite Christmas moments.
At home Owen and Chloie donned their jammies. Daddy and Owen headed outside for a quick walk of Christmas lights. Chloie had some milk. And Santa Claus visited!
Chloie loved the wrapping paper. Owen loved all his toys and Chloie's toys. It's 10:00 on Christmas morning, and Owen still hasn't stopped going from one new toy to the next. Chloie had to head to bed, but Owen stayed up late. We got out the tray of cookies and eggnog. I guess we've never placed a large plate of cookies in front of Owen before because he really thought he could eat every single one of them. He'd take a bite. Put that one down, and then pick up the next. Take a bite, and put it down. And on he went through about five cookies before we realized this just wasn't going to work. But the toys were just too enticing. He quickly left the cookie tray to return to his playing.
We finally tucked Owen into bed around 9:00 with his new "semi that hauls automobiles" (the only gift he specifically asked for... in yellow... but Santa could only find orange). We could hear him talking quietly to his semi as he finally fell asleep.
Daddy and Mommy got some special snuggle time with Chloie on Christmas morning. She was all smiles and Daddy's little girl as she chanted her "dada dada".
We feel so blessed to share this Christmas Day with our beautiful babies. Merry Christmas! (and as Owen would say in response, "thank you, Mommy" :)
