Brotherly Love, Cars and Monster Jamming

As I was putting Owen down for a nap Monday, I told him I would be leaving to get my hair done so Tonya (our super great neighbor) and Owen's good buddy, Dallen, would be coming over to watch him while I was gone.  His first reaction wasn't super excitement that Dallen would be here to play as I expected.  He got this super serious look on his face, reached out to touch my arm and said, "It's ok, Mom.  I'll take care of Chloie."  Already the over-protective brother... great!

And evidently Owen is already over-protective of his vehicles.  Matt and I switched cars so he could take the Camry in for some recall work yesterday.  Owen and Chloie loved riding in the Jeep, but Owen was still concerned with the car.  As I talked to Matt on the phone in the afternoon, Owen came running in shouting, "Dad, you taking care of our car?"

Church was kind of sad this week.... both kids wanted Dad to hold them.  Chloie reached for "Dada!"  And then Owen felt that Daddy needed to hold him too.... because goodness knows if one child wants something the other must have it too!  Matt stood beaming with his 38 pound giant son in one arm and his sweet little daughter in the other while Mom stood dejectedly... but then focused on praying for a good three minutes while it lasted!

Not sure where she gets her love of dogs... but she will carry "dog,dog" around all day.

Monster jamming continues to thrive at the Davis household.  Now we are into monster jamming pillows and each other.  Chloie can keep up with Owen on this event.  She'll  free-fall face first into the pillows Owen stacks.  It's a real hoot to watch.... until Owen decides to really get a good jump off Chloie with a couple of knees to her back.  Can't turn around for a second around here!
